GOT
QUESTIONS?
You have questions, and we have answers. Check out our FAQs to learn more about our programming and membership.
If you can't find what you're looking for here, feel free to contact us.
When and where do you play?
We, typically, host events every Monday evening to build consistency into our programming and community. We also throw in some weekend events to spice things up.
We play at a variety of locations in the Charlotte area such as Huntersville, Concord, Camp North End, South End and Charlotte proper - just to name a few. We rotate the location each week to give members an opportunity to visit a variety of locations and accommodate members living in various areas.
The location of each event is included on the booking site and will be communicated at the beginning of each month.
Can I come if I have never played before?
Absolutely! We all start somewhere, and most of our community started by learning at a BPC event. Our community and volunteers will help make sure you learn the ropes.
When is your next event?
We are currently prioritizing planning for the next wave of BPC activities. You can stay in the know by subscribing to our newsletter.
Do I have to be Black to join BPC?
While our name is Black Pickleball & Company, our community is open to everyone. We center and celebrate Black culture and experiences, but you do not have to be Black to play or become a member. If you believe in community, connection, and fun—we want you here.
How does BPC membership work? What is "The Socialite"?
Memberships run in trimesters (3-month increments). Consistency is what makes community thrive. A three-month commitment allows members to build real relationships, not just drop in and out. It also helps us plan better programming and make the most of our team’s energy. Instead of one-off drop-ins, members commit to a 3-month term filled with weekly play, exclusive events, and curated experiences.
The trimester terms are:
- January–March
- May–July
- September–November
BPC Membership, The Socialite, is $55 per month, billed monthly for 3 months to cover a full trimester of programming. "The Socialite" is our unlimited access version of membership that guarantees access to all our weekly programming pickleball programming and our member-exclusive social events.
Is it $55 per month? Or $55 for the entire trimester?
Membership is $55 per month. When you sign up, are committing to the full trimester (3 months) at this rate because a full commitment helps us plan events, secure facilities, and provide a consistent experience for all members.
Membership fees are charged once a month for 3 consecutive months.
What happens if I don't want to commit to a full trimester?
We’ve significantly limited one-off drop-ins so we can focus on building intentional community through membership. Occasionally, there may be special events open to non-members, but the main experience will be reserved for members.
Membership is designed to last the full trimester, so spots cannot be shared or transferred. If you’re unsure about committing, we recommend waiting until the next open enrollment period or keep an eye out for our drop-in events.
Can I become a member during an active trimester?
If there are spots available, you're welcome to join at any time.
You’ll be charged the full monthly rate at signup, and then a pro-rated discount will be applied to your next billing cycle to account for the time you missed.
Why are you a non-profit?
Great question! Every dollar we receive is allocated to our operations and programs. While we do have a membership model that is primarily for building community connections, in addition to our other focus areas, we invest equal effort in serving and supporting underrepresented populations through our community partnerships.
What if I have more questions that aren't covered here?
Please send us a note via the Contact page on our website.
Are there any age restrictions to becoming a member?
All members must be 21 or older to join our programming. BPC is designed as an adult community space, and this policy helps us keep the focus on building meaningful connections among peers.
How can I join the BPC team as a leader and/or volunteer?
We are always looking for more people to help fulfill our mission! Check out "Get Involved" on our website to learn about leadership team openings and volunteer opportunities.
We host volunteer orientation once a trimester. We will send out information and invites to all those who have filled out the volunteer inquiry form via our website on the "Get Involved" page. We have a small, but mighty, team so you may not hear back right a way. However, we do have a monthly rhythm to reaching out to those who've connected via our online forms.
